Baking soda and vinegar
See the functional side of chemistry in action! Mix half a cup of baking soda with half a cup of vinegar in a jar or jug. The mixture begins to boil, so immediately pour it down the drain. This chemical reaction between the two components, vinegar and soda, will at least partially decompose the pollution in the pipes. Wait a few minutes and run the hot water to wash off the dirt. This method you can practice once a week to clean the pipes and remove odors.
Detergent and vacuum tool
The preparation for dishwashing or laundry can help you to wash the grease from the pipe walls and to lubricate the surfaces. Mix a quarter cup of detergent with hot water and pour it into the pipes. Use a vacuum tool to suck and unblock the drain and clear the paths of the pipeline system. Then rinse with hot water.
Water pressure and gravity
Pour in the channel one third cup of baking soda and one-third cup of vinegar, wait for an hour or two. Put the stopper and fill the sink or tub with hot water. When the water reaches the upper levels, remove the plug and let the water pressure of the drained water to remove the accumulated dirt in the pipes, broken down by the mixture of baking soda and vinegar, along with the remains.
Snake drill
The metal probe to channels, called snake, is a flexible device for cleaning of clogged pipes. The spiral tip grips the hair and dirt that would otherwise be very difficult to clean. If any liquid cannot unclog the channel, try this method before you call the plumber, as the problem can be easily fixable.
Metal hanger
Do not underestimate the functional applications of the seemingly useless items, such as the metal hangers. Straighten the hanger and form one end as a hook to pinch and remove the masses of hair and dirt from the pipes. If you straighten the whole hanger, you can reach major length of the pipes and remove larger quantity of deposits.
Hot water
Leave a few liters of tap water to boil on the stove and then pour the water down in the drain. If necessary, you can repeat the procedure several times so you can reach the best results. Give a little time to the water to dissolve the dirt on the walls of the pipes.
Salt and soda
Drop mixture of half a cup of salt and half a cup of baking soda in clogged pipes. Wait about twenty minute. Pour several liters of hot water in the channel, in order to wash away the contamination from the pipes.
